Loving God and Neighbor Together

One major reason  for starting The True Christian News was to provide Christians with unbiased news especially news that affects todays Christians.

These stories could well have been and probably should have been major news stories.

A Common Word Between Us and You is an open letter dated 13 October,2007, from leaders of the Muslim faith to leaders of the Christian faith

The Muslim faith leaders have sent a love letter to the leaders of Christianity expressing the common ground between the teachings of Jesus Christ and Muhammad, interesting, now before we slobber all over ourselves, as our beloved Christian leaders have managed to do we should examine the contents of this letter, or before you open the gate you might want to look at that horse

Our Muslim friends have quoted the Qur'an and offered this as an agreement between our beliefs.

Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to a common word between us and you: that we shall worship none but God, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside God. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him). (Aal ‘Imran 3:64)

Now my fellow Christians this actually demonstrates the difference between Christians and Muslims because a verse can have one meaning to a Muslim and another to a Christian. While there is not a single thing wrong with this verse it has a meaning to a Muslim that would definitely be contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Understand Muhammad did not understand the trinity, the words " ascribe no partners to God " refers to his understanding of the trinity and our beloved ministers should well know this.

Now let's understand no Christian disagrees with the fact we also worship one God and we should find no fault in worshipping God as one as our Muslims friends have pointed out.

Muslims however follow the teachings of the Qur'an where the trinity is described as ascribing partners to God.

So when we respond to an agreement  between Christians and Muslims this point must be made that the true belief in the triune God is that God is indeed one and is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We can not soft sell this our faith,  the Bible is full of warnings associated with false prophets and false gods.

We absolutely can not agree the god Allah is the God that the Christians worship.

1 John 2:22 Who is  a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

Now we can not meld our God with false gods nor agree with false prophets.

God is indeed one and he is not the Allah of Islam

If our Christian leaders feel a need to find common ground between Islam and Christianity it absolutely is not in the God we worship.

The Christian response,

"Loving God and Neighbor Together"

This letter begins with a preamble.

We want to begin by acknowledging that in the past (e.g. in the Crusades) and in the present (e.g. in excesses of the “war on terror”) many Christians have been guilty of sinning against our Muslim neighbors. Before we “shake your hand” in responding to your letter, we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful One and of the Muslim community around the world.

I personaly have a problem with this one Not only do our leaders feel a need to appologize for the Crusades but also for the war on terror.

And exactly who are we  apologizing to? the All-Merciful One? Are we apologizing to God or Allah or are we saying these are the same?

We move on to agree that the common ground between Muslims and Christians is the love of God and the love of neighbor.

I can only take this to mean the love of God is the love of Allah.  This are somehow equal and we have agreed with the Muslim faith that their Allah is our God.

I now have a problem with our Christian leaders if they can not recognize God from false god's and false prophets that the Bible addresses clearly.

I understand the importance they might have felt in taking steps toward world peace but we as Christians do not accept false gods in the name of promoting a peaceful world!!!

We procede to applaud their worship of one god ? We Christians now applaud the worship of false gods?  We must as Christians identify the god Allah as a different god as defined by the Bible. Are we agreeing that the god Allah is the same God? Seems pretty cear to me.

I'm sorry Christian leaders you are not following the teachings of Christ.

1 John 2:15-26 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever

18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichists; whereby we know that the last time.

19 They went out from us. but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt continued with us: but they went out, that they might be

made manifest that they were not of us.

20 But ye have an unction form the Holy One, and ye know all things.

21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

23 Whosover denieth  the Son, the same hath not the Father [but] he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall coninue in the Son and in the Father.

25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you..

Faith is based on facts: But how do you get the facts?

To be a true disciple of Jesus Christ one must submit themselves to the truth no matter where it leads. It is an unfortunate truth that many of Christianity's critics (like atheists, for example,) are correct in their accusations of many Christian practices and beliefs. They make the claim often that we as Christians do not face reality and whitewash the truth. They point out our superstitious traditions and our blind faith in doctrines that are men's fabrications. We are easy targets for their rhetoric because what the say has a certain amount of truth where the majority of those who wear the label of Christian are concerned.

Faith is not blind. Faith is not based on a funny feeling  in the pit of your gut. Faith is not based on what your parents or your pastor or on what any man or scholar has told you. Faith is based rather on facts. It is a fact that Jesus was sent by God. It is a fact that the Bible is God's word  It is a fact that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life and that no one comes to the father but by him. There is only one way to establish this set of facts. You must meet God! You must hear  from God! You must  submit to God -God's way  through this propriety. It is called revelation.

Theology which is supposed to mean the study of God has shown itself to be no better than science to establish any factual evidence of God. This is because like science it is dependant on men's interpretation. In both science and theology you eventually are left with taking a man's word for it. This leaves you with nothing but the word of what ever man you choose to believe. It is always possible that the man you choose will be wrong because it is man's demonstrated nature to be wrong.  Men in general cannot be trusted with something as valuable with the truth.

Jesus however was not just a man. He was also God. This is his nature and it is a fact. He was a man from above! Anyone who has truly met him through his offer to all men can verify this fact. He reveals himself to us by his Spirit. That same Spirit he shares with us leads us and guides us to the truth. He interprets, not us. He reveals, not men. He alone can establish the facts upon which our faith as Christians is based. God isn't a fictitious superstition, rather he is a  very real person who loves us. I do not believe the Bible because some scholar or priest told me it was God's word. I believe it because God told me. You can only be sure of this through revelation of the Spirit through the scriptures. Theology and men's opinions are no basis for faith. I encourage you today if you have not met Jesus to take that step through prayer today. Find out for yourself if he is true and real and loves you. Think on these scriptures below in prayerful meditation. If you truly have a value for the truth you will find it and be set free from uncertainty and the bondage to carnal minds of men.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.

Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

1 Corinthians 2:4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

John 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

The truth will come to you the same way it came to Peter. God will reveal it by his Spirit. Revelation of God through the Spirit and sacrifice of Christ is our only avenue of real truth. The offer is on the table, will you receive it?

God bless you in your search...
